GOOLOO GE1200 Review

Powerful and portable, that’s what the GOOLOO GE1200 is about. Even though this model is the smallest in the GOOLOO jump starters’ lineup, it has enough power (1200A peak current) to crank most 12-volt cars, motorcycles, lawnmowers, yachts, boats, pickups, snowmobiles, and more. So how come such a compact item is so heavy-duty? You’ll learn this in my GOOLOO GE1200 review.

Build and design

GOOLOO GE1200 build and design

Being a little bit heavier than a power bank, this 1.19-lbs jump starter is a real gem. You can effortlessly carry it around or put it in the glove box – it’s compact and lightweight.

I am also satisfied with the build quality. The starter is covered with a non-slip material so it won’t slip from your hands. It feels sturdy, and the clamps are fine. I wish they included longer leads, though. These are around 12 inches long, so I would appreciate having twice as long cables.

Ports

The GE1200 jump starter has one 15V 1A input. It comes with a 5V 2.4A, 9V 2A output for a quick charge and one 12V/10A output for powering an air compressor, car refrigerator, vacuum cleaner, or other equipment. You will also find one 5V 2.1A USB output for hooking your gadgets for charging.

Features

GOOLOO GE1200 features

With the GE1200 jump starter by GOOLOO, you will crank the dead 12V battery of your vehicle (up to 7.5L gas or 6.5L diesel). I had no problem starting the oldish car with a completely flat battery, so it delivers its promise.

After using the jump starter twice, it took me half an hour to fully charge the 18000mAh battery. There are multiple charging options, so you can choose whichever is more convenient for you. To keep an eye on the battery level, check the LED indicator from time to time.

There is a LED flashlight with three modes – stable, strong, and SOS. It’s not super bright but will give you enough light in the dark for basic work around your car. To turn the light on, you’ve got to press and hold the corresponding button.

The smart protection system will not let you burn sensitive vehicle electronics. It has short-circuit, over-charge, over-discharge, over-temperature, reverse-charge, over-current, over-voltage, reverse-polarity, and other types of protection.
